Last October, we launched the general assembly of installation and transmission. This broad regional consultation aims to prepare a major Breton plan, by the summer of 2022, to ensure the renewal of generations within Breton farms. From December 6 to 10, representatives of all stakeholders met in workshops to reflect on this common issue.
Production sectors, chambers of agriculture, trade unions, cooperatives, training organizations and local authorities…nearly 170 participants came to express and confront their point of view on the different realities of the profession. These constructive and dynamic exchanges made it possible to draw up an initial inventory of the installation and transmission in Brittany. It is now a matter of identifying the obstacles encountered in the installation process and considering the solutions to be implemented.
The Estates General will continue in early 2022, with several other working meetings to deepen the reflection around 4 structuring themes:
- How to improve the transferability of farms and support the agro-ecological transition in connection with the sectors and cooperatives?
- What land solutions to promote the installation of new farmers?
- What levers should be mobilized in the territories?
- How to attract and train new profiles?
At the end of the process, the Brittany Region will submit to the vote of its hemicycle accompanying measures to aim for a doubling of assisted installations by 2028, against 520 identified in 2020.
