What is a flower bed?The first question that should be clarified is that concerning the nature of the parterre. That is to say, what exactly is a parterre? Also known as a flower bed, the parterre represents a corner of the garden that is essentially made up of flowers. Although it could be arranged in a multitude of ways, usually two main types of floral arrangement are distinguished. The first – the French garden is distinguished by geometric shapes and the search for order. The second – the English garden, on the other hand, is inspired by nature in its raw state and sets as its goal the imitation of the natural order. The choice for which model to opt for completely depends on your own taste and preferences.

Regarding the choice of flowers, here you must take into account the flowering period and opt instead for flowers able to adapt to the local climate. In general, perennials are preferred. It would also be nice if your flower bed was made up of spring, autumn and summer flowers. Their flowering in turn will guarantee you to have fresh flowers almost all year round.
