On December 11, Yannick Angel was indicted for "rape and sexual assault on a 15-year-old minor" and placed under judicial supervision. His alleged victim filed a complaint last summer.

"I'm sure there was never consent." Several weeks after the indictment for rape of a minor Yannick Agnel, the lawyers of his alleged victim speak. In the columns of L'Equipe, the advice of the daughter of the former coach of the Olympic champion describes "the hold" he had over her when he was 24 and she was 13. "She is in awe , she is unable to say no and I think that suddenly she does not even ask herself the question of what is happening. Things are happening that she is undergoing, "explains her lawyer, Isabelle Rollet, who describes the teenager then as “a child at the level of civil status” but also “a child in her body”: “She was super thin, she had no awareness of her sexuality and of what a woman's life".

The facts for which Yannick Agnel is indicted date back to 2015/2016. His alleged victim took years to file a complaint, helped by a psychiatrist. At the investigating judge, the 19-year-old young woman would, according to L'Equipe, explain that she had "filed a complaint (...) because it had to be done, because it is something not normal". "Now I want everything to go as well as possible. As at 13, I did not know love or sex. At 19, I do not know anything about justice, added the alleged victim of Yannick Agnel. I am not not at all saying that Yannick Agnel should be tied to a post and stoned. That what has to happen happens, that's all." For the moment, however, she has refused a confrontation with the former swimmer, who acknowledged the materiality of the facts before being indicted.

Yannick Agnel: for his alleged victim "swimming is aggression"

We do not question the reprehensible side of this relationship. However, when we were able to see the complainant's photos that she did not hesitate to share regularly on her insta account (and yes it was public), we say to ourselves that she must not be so fragile and be cold to the eyes... not to mention the little sister who would have opened a tinder account at 14 years old.
