Based in Annecy, the new digital platform for the purchase and sale of second-hand products aims to become the "Vinted" of the outdoors.
Offering a website and an application to practitioners of outdoor sports so that they can buy and sell second-hand clothes, shoes and equipment is the creed chosen by Everide. The start-up, based in Les Glaisins since its creation last July, will integrate into its service offer the free online posting of the product (with a categorization by sport, use, material, etc.), secure payment, the transport slip and , of course, customer service. With the objective of removing all friction points to facilitate exchanges between individuals. The seller will have no fees but the buyer will pay an 8% commission calculated on the price of the product.
A very buoyant second-hand market
The founding trio – made up of Julien Bronnert, Olivier Rocques and Xavier de Le Rue, all outdoor sports enthusiasts – wants to be a link in the circular economy by giving a second life to worn products that are no longer used.
And the trendy second-hand market has a bright future ahead of it. "Its growth rate is estimated at 15% and will weigh 20% of the outdoor market within ten years", he predicts, adding that this sector has 26 million practitioners in France, having spent an average of 280 euros in 2019.
To launch its high-end app everide.app at the end of October, the young company raised 1.2 million euros in August from around fifteen independent business angels from the outdoor industry and French Tech. . Among them are Olivier Cantet, ex-CEO of Rip Curl and president of Private Sport Shop; Patrick Giraudon, CEO of Arva-Nic Impex (and president of OSV); Mustache Bike co-founder Gregory Sand; Paulin Dementhon, the creator of Drivy; Jean-Fabrice Mathieu, investor (jfm Ventures) and former CEO of SeLoger.com… or even Xavier de Le Rue. The Bpi as well as the two family offices Nouvel Atlas and Venture Together have joined the ranks. “This operation will also make it possible to strengthen the teams (currently 8 people) and to invest in marketing to quickly make us known to practitioners,” underlines Julien Bronnert, who also relies on his team of brand ambassador athletes. Everide is aiming for a target of 50,000 products in the catalog, i.e. 25,000 to 30,000 sellers, by the end of 2022.
