We have already seen in a previous article that it was very easy to change energy supplier, to take advantage of more advantageous rates than the regulated electricity rates. But we can go even further thanks to group purchase offers, such as those offered for example by UFC Que Choisir, the well-known consumer defense association “Energie Less Chère Ensemble”.

If you've been following the blog for a while, you know that I'm currently at ekwateur, a green energy provider. A change that was made 4 years ago, following a group purchase offer made by UFC Que Choisir. This offer allowed me to have the best offer on the market at that time, with even more advantageous prices than the prices usually charged by ekwateur. An offer that was renewed two years later, and to which ekwateur again offered the best rates.

The principle of a group purchase is to form a group of buyers in order to negotiate more advantageous prices with suppliers. UFC Que Choisir thus allows people to register on a list of people interested in an offer of electricity, or electricity + gas. Once the list is complete, the association contacts the various energy suppliers, so that they can make price proposals. The supplier making the best offer then wins the market, and the people registered on the UFC list can subscribe to the offer negotiated with the selected supplier.

This method allows you to benefit from the best rates, which are also blocked for one year:

Having subscribed to the 2017 offer then that of 2019, I thus benefited from the best possible rates at ekwateur for 4 years, since in the previous campaigns the rates were blocked for two years (compared to only one year for this new campaign) . In the end, a little over €800 in savings was achieved in two years compared to EDF's regulated tariffs.

If I am telling you about it today, it is because UFC is once again organizing this operation. It is open now, until September 20. On October 14 the energy offers will be unveiled. This information will make it possible to make the energy proposal best suited to your needs.

That's all ! We just have to wait for October to see the proposals. If the proposal made suits you, you can subscribe to it directly. It will only cost you €10 to cover the association's management costs, which is negligible compared to the savings you will make.
