The management of Le Mans Métropole Habitat has opened negotiations concerning working time within the framework of the law relating to the transformation of the public service. About sixty employees, under private contracts, expressed their disagreement with their change of status, Friday, December 10, in front of the building of the social landlord, rue de l'Estérel in Le Mans (Sarthe).

“This law imposes 1,607 hours in the public service, explains Christine Guittet, union representative of the autonomous federation of the territorial public service (FA -FPT). “It concerns a hundred civil servants. Except that within the company, there are 200 people with a private law contract who should not be concerned. But under the guise of fairness, management incorporated them into the deal. It will therefore be for them a brutal reduction and without any counterpart of social gains. With three days off less and a working week that will drop from 37 hours to 37:30. But as the management says, that's only six minutes a day more! »

The CGT signed the agreement

A negotiation meeting took place and the FA-FPT refused to sign the agreement, unlike the CGT. “So the rule will apply to everyone. And if the union had not made this choice, only the social benefits of the hundred or so civil servants remaining to date would have been impacted, ”laughs the union representative.

Note that today, Le Mans Métropole Habitat only hires staff with a private contract.

Friday, December 10, 2021, between two bites of sandwiches, gathered on their break time in front of the building on rue de l'Estérel, the employees were talking about a "strike", if they did not obtain a revision of the agreement.
